About Ilinx
THEY/THEM | WELLINGTON
I have always loved telling stories. When I was much younger, my brother and I would go outside onto our playground to play superheroes. Nearly every single time, instead we'd just spend two hours talking about our characters' powers and backstory. My favourite assignments in primary school were creative writing. My stories would always start with 'Chapter 1', as if I was going to become a prodigy. I discovered worldbuilding websites and constructed languages in high school and immediately became engrossed in designing realms of adventures and secrets. Even now, my special interest is Dungeons & Dragons, where, every week, I lead my players through a continent riddled with magic lost to history.

It's not just my own stories I like to tell; when I initially enrolled at Massey University for the Bachelor of Screen Arts, I did so in the hopes that a career in Game Narrative would satisfy my greatest professional value: I want to help others tell their stories. In my third year, however, after a summer of struggling to find any narrative jobs at all, I discovered my knack for the Producer role. I have always enjoyed organisation and spreadsheets, and the soft skills required for a reserved leadership role were ones I had been improving naturally in my hobbies and day-to-day. And what better position to play support in others' efforts to voice their stories!
